Republicans have pledged to pass a national abortion ban if they win the 2022 elections. We can beat back this threat, and reconstruct American democracy, if we unite with the upsurge of people everywhere fighting for water, housing, health care, the planet, and all our basic needs and freedoms.

Kenneth Mejia is a candidate for Los Angeles Controller. He is a Certified Public Accountant born and raised in LA by parents who immigrated from the Philippines. In 2016 he founded a community service group called “We Can Make a Difference – LA” that provides essential supplies to unhoused communities and low-income families in Skid Row, Westlake, Koreatown, and Echo Park. In 2016, he joined the LA Tenants Union to organize and fight alongside tenants experiencing immoral rent increases, unjust evictions, and uninhabitable living conditions. In 2017 he became a Neighborhood Council Board Member in Koreatown.
Angelica Dueñas is a candidate for Congress in District 29 in the San Fernando Valley area of Los Angeles. She was born and raised in San Fernando Valley, is a mother of five kids, a community organizer, and served as a Bernie Sanders delegate at the 2016 and 2020 Democratic Conventions. She is past president of the Sun Valley Area Neighborhood Council and currently serves on numerous State Democratic Party caucuses and the LA Democratic Party Central Committee.
Michael Harrington is a tenant organizer in eastern Kentucky. He is a member of LRNA and active in the efforts to mobilize working-class Kentucky voters to reject the proposed anti-abortion amendment to the state’s constitution this November 8th. He is a life-long Appalachian who has organized in his community on a variety of efforts. One of those campaigns won a local syringe exchange program in his county. He also co-anchored a winning labor union drive in his workplace with CMRJB Workers United. He is passionate about fighting alongside other tenants, working families and unemployed folks in Kentucky.
